Paterson & Cooke Nordic is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team in a full-time position. The successful applicant will work on a variety of projects in the mining and resources industry. The work entails the design of slurry pumping and pipeline systems and related equipment ranging from concept development through to detailed design, commissioning, and operational support.The Project Engineer will work as part of a project team taking responsibility for engineering and technical disciplines involved in the project. This includes scheduling, planning, forecasting and management of activities to assure project accuracy and quality. The work may include the following tasks and responsibilities:TasksConceptual designs and project evaluationsHydraulic analysis and design of water and slurry pump and pipeline systemsMechanical design and engineering of mining systems, including process plants, pumps, pipelines and related infrastructureProcess design including flow sheet development, mass balance, P&ID generationSelection specification and evaluation of system components (pumps, piping, valves, etc.)Technical communication, including specifications, report writing and presentationsProject management, including planning and proposals, client liaison and execution of engineering projectsResponsibilitiesComplete engineering projects by organising and controlling project elementsCo-operate and communicate effectively with the Project Manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical supportApplication of technical skills to perform engineering tasks and problem solvingSupport with the preparation of proposal documentsOngoing professional development towards obtaining and maintaining professional registrationJob SpecificationQual…
